Rotary 14 was the fourteenth Rotary Club established in the world. Today, Rotary International includes more than 35,000 clubs with more than 1.2 million members. The motto for Rotary is “Service Above Self” and can be quantified each year as members of the clubs volunteer more than 47 million hours serving causes in their local communities and through projects coordinated by the clubs throughout the world.
In June 2019, members of Rotary 14, Lincoln’s oldest and largest service club, celebrated the conclusion of their 109th year as an organization with cheers for community and international projects, recognition of outstanding members, acknowledgement of excellence in teaching and awarding and a scholarship for one of Lincoln’s recent high school graduates. The celebration on June 25 marked the end of his year as President for Randy Bretz and the beginning of her year for Mailani Veney.
